HERE AND THERE is a group exhibition featuring three Ringling College students who have all had extraordinary experiences amid global conflict. While each body of work is vastly different from the next, this exhibition reveals the common thread that Art is an outlet for processing events, experiences, and cultures. John's body of work is seen below. John Quigley served eight years in the US Army with multiple combat deployments. His experiences led him to a career as a private military contractor, otherwise known as a mercenary. His time in the Middle East was captured with no-frills photography techniques that have been digitally painted. John is also the curator and point of contact for this exhibition. This exhibition is intended to educate and share the unique perspectives of individuals directly involved in current global conflicts. This exhibition first opened at Ringling College in November of 2023, and based on the overwhelmingly positive response, the artists would like to pursue opportunities to share their stories at other institutions.
